THE AUSTRALIAN COVERNORGENERAL.
Though .Lord Dudley has already started for Australia — via Canada — Lady Dudley is not duo to leave until September. ' All her arrangements liavo now been made, and she will reach Australia about a month later than her husband. Three daughters and the second son are accompanying their mother, Lord Dudley's son aud heir, Lord Ednam, remaining at Eton. Incidentally, he will have to keep a fraternal eye upon the Dudleytwins," who are not to be taken to Australia yet a while. By tho way (says an English, writer), it may be worth while contradicting a somewhat absurd story which has gained currency anent Lady Dudley's experiences "in trade." I havo the highest authority for stating that there is not a word of truth in the legend of Lady Dudley's adventures in business after tho failure of her father, the late Mr. t Gurney, of the famous banking firm of Overend and Gurney. Idlo gossip of this sort is not worthy of repeated contradiction. '
