Taihape, was conducted by James Mackenzie, Crown Lands Commissioner, at the Wellington Distriot Lands Office yesterday There wore, altogether, 145 applications, for the sections, which wero offered on tho removable lease tenure, but 35 wero disallowed by lbs Jjand Board. The result of tho ballot was as follows;— Section 3, 134 acres 1 rood, H. R. I'ika, Karioi j Section 4, 186. acres 2 roods, li. .7. Titter, Wangamii; Section 5, 187 acres, I'. Donovan, Ruanui. , The land, which is situated to the south of tho Okqliu and Rangiwana blocks, is undulating country, of papa formation, with good surfaco soil, well watered, and at- pro. sent covered with light bush, with a thick undergrowth. Tho outlet, is MpLarun, L 7 ml)os distant. Waitangi railway station is distant 13 miles by n bridle trunk, u-ltilo about 151 miles of the rwJ' to Mnlnr™ is llray road, tho balance hying a brjdio track.
