TECHNICAL EDUCATION BOARD.
A meeting o the Technical Education Board was ; held last evening, there '• being present : -.Uessrs J. P Luke (in the chair), JJallinger, Carmicbael, M'Laren and Robertson. ' , The Chairman, in referring to tho site for tho new Technical School, said that tho board should express its appreciation of the fane spirit in winch tho City Council met tho board. 011 the matter. Tho site was a good one, and the board was to bo congratulated. It was centrally situated, and touched two lines of trams. The number of students at tho school at present was 1300 but it was anticipated that when tho building was finished there would be about 2000. Ho nlbvod that tho board place on record its appreciation of the assistance given by' tho City Council, and that tho Minister for Education bo approached and asked for a, suiri equal'to the amount given to the Auckland school (£2000) for building purposes, and that the Minister bo asked to facilitate the passago of a Bill through Parliament this session.
