CARRINCTON ESTATE.
A number of Wairarapa farmers are waiting with some anxiety for tho opening up of tlic Carrington Estate (writes our correspondent). _ The place will absorb about thirty, families, and, contrary to expectation, it is stated in authoritative quarters that tha rentals which will be asked will not in any way be oppressive. A possible disadvantage at the outset will bo the distance gome of the farms will be'from tho Taratahi and Belvedere checsc factories. A dairv factory should be as near the middle of its district as is possible, and in, tho circumstances there is a proposal that.the Belvedere Factory should bo either shifted farther north, or that the Taratahi Dairy Company should erect a branch factory near the centre of the Carrington Estate, it is stated that this latter proposal could be managed vrv easily so far as financial considerations arc concerned: • . .
