WELLINGTON HOSPITAL TRUSTEES
FORTNIGHTLY MEETING. The fortnightly meeting of the Wellington Hospital Trustees was held yesterday morning, there being present:—The Hon. C. M. Luke (in tho chair) and Messrs. F. G. Bolton, AV. H. Hales, G. Nash, R. C. Kirk, J. W. M'Ewan, G. London, and A. C. Pearco. Tho receipts for the period, including £1458 6s. Bd. subsidy from tho District Board, wcro stated to be £2152 14s. 4d., leaving a credit balance of £909 6s. 7d. Tlio return of patients showed that in the Wellington Hospital thoro wero for tho fortnight ended August 24, UOG males and 94 females, - a total of 200, as against 197 for tho corresponding poriod of 1907; Victoria Hospital—2o males and 16 females; Soddon Hospital—ls males and 9 females: grand total, 260; 1907. 252. Tho Finance Committee recommended that tho request .of a late patient for tho reduction of his account from £16' to £8 bo granted, and that legal proceedings be taken against two in-patients for maintenance foes.
The time for receiving competitive designs for the additions and alterations to the Hospital has been extended from September 1G to September 30, in responso to the wiskos of architects in Auckland, Christchurch, and Dunedin.
