Knoll, Sevenoaks, Kent, has boen cruelly murdered while on tho balcony of a summer-house situated in lonely woods attached to Frankfield, tho residence of Mr. JHorace Wilkinson) at Seal Chart, Sevenpaks. . \ Mrs. Luard was shot with a revolver and killed by some person or persons. unknown, who robbed her of threo rings, the fingers being badly cut. The murder after her husband had left her. They parted at a wicket gate loading to the wockls, it being his intention' to go to the golf-house at Goddon Green (about' two and V half miles from Sevenoaks) to-fetch clubs, as they intended to spend some days from home. Edward Luard, T.R.G.S., lata of the Koyal Engineers, was born on October 13, 1839, and married in 1875 the youngest daughter of Mr, Thomas Hartley, of Gillfoot, Cumberland; they had one son, Major-Goneral Luard, wlio resides at Ightham Knoll, has many important public services to his credit, including a scheme for the rearmament of Gibraltar (1871). • '
