THE jiRRAH TRADE; From the tone of the latest West Australian adviccj there is every reason to believe that tfc:r slump in tho jarrah trade between New Zealand and Bunburv is only temporary, and that before long tho list of expected arrivals will soon be as largo as it was earlier in tho year (says the Sydney "Commercial News"), One of tho reasons for tho slackness now gpparent is that when big quantities of the commodity were in request in New Zealand, some exceptionally largo vessels were obtained-to carry shipments, and as they all reached tho loading port in close proximity to ono another, and their destinations about the same time, tho amount of the timber on hand was found to be too much for requirements nt the time, and consequently it Mas not necessary to have more supplies brought ftrward. However, the quantity in the Dominion is diminishing so rapidly that before the end of the month more vessels will be socured to bring forward shipments. The Sydney "Commercial News" states that in order to make provision for shipping the accumulation of timber on the Hobart wharves for New Zealand, tho Union Company has specially arranged to bring the s.s.
