LITTLE TO CHOOSE BETWEEN THE TWO MONEY THE MAIN FACTOR. ABDUL'S ERRATIC ARTILLERY. (by telegram—press association—copyright.) Morocco, August 23. Further reports of tho overthrow of tho Sultan Abdul Aziz's troops near Marrakesh, by the forces of tlio Pretender Mulai Hafid (tho Sultan's half-brother.), show that many of Abdul's soldiery joined Mulai Hafid at the commencement of the fight. Abdul's artillery was ineffective, owing to panic causcd by tho bursting of tho guns. Active preparations are being mado to proclaim'Mulai Hafid at Tangier, a leading seaport of Northern Morocco, and the centre o£ European diplomacy. AMENABLE TO LOANS. "TIMES" CORRESPONDENT'S VIEW. (Rec. August 24, 9.10 p.m.) London, August 24. Tho Tangier correspondent of' "Tho Times" says that there has been too much tendency to contrast the Sultans as representing reform and reaction respectively. Tho actual personality of' the Snltan is unimportant. Mulai will probably prove as amenable to loans as his brother. »■ SULTAN GOINC TO EXILE. BARELY ESCAPES WITH HIS LIFE. TREACHEROUS TROOPS. (Rec. August 24, 10.25 p.m.) Morocco, August 24. Abdul Aziz barely .escaped with his life, after the wildest scene of treachery and •panic. His camp was pillaged by his own followers. < Ho has arrived at Settat, and will proceed to Casablanca. Thence ho will go to Syria, to await a change in circumstances enabling him to return to Morocco. It is understood that Mulai Hafid will allow Abdul Aziz a pension, and a place of residence. Mulai has been proclaimed Sultan at Tangier amid great enthusiasm. No officials will bo chanred. Mulai has also been proclaimed at several of the coast towns.
