Mr. W. Tudhope, of the Magistrate's Court office staff, has accepted an appointment in the office of Mr. Hi Taplin, solicitor, Hawera, and will leave Wellington to enter on his new duties early next month.
Tho Christchurch "Press" announces with regret that Mr. W. Lowrie has resigned his position as director of tho Lincoln Agricultural College, having accepted the appointment of Director of Agriculture in one of the Australian States. '■
. A Duncdin Press Association telegram states that Mr. Ronaldson, who has been promoted to the management of the National Bank at Invercargill, was the recipient of a purse of sovereigns yesterday from clients of the Dunedin office, where he lias been employed as accountant,'

Tho popularity of tho Very' Rev. Father Keogh, S.M., 8.A., Rector of St. Patrick's College, will be publiply demonstrated at the Town Hall this evening; when, in.commemoration of the .twenty-fifth year of his ordination, tho worthy Father will bo made the recipient of a presentation which has been subscribed to ■by his friends, irrespective of religious convictions. : The presentation will eventuate in the coursa of a capital entertainment which has been arranged. Dr. Thos. Cahill will preside, and the presentation will bo made by His Worship tho Mayor (Hon. T. W. Hislop). . No charge for admission will be made.
A unique Masonic presentation was made at last night's meeting of the New Zealand Pacific Lodge. Practically every resident member of the Lodge was present to do honour toR.W. Bro. W. D. Lyon, who had risen from a sick bed to celebrate the twentyfifth anniversary of his initiation. Tho Lodge marked tho occasion by presenting Bro. Lyon with a Past Mast-or's jewel in substitution for pne which was stolen from his residenco by a burglar some months ago; and tho individual brethren added a special token of their personal, affection by presenting him with an illuminated address iii album form, bearing. the signature of every member, sotting forth his invaluablo service to tho craft as an institution, and to the Now Zealand Pacific Lodgo in particular. The opportunity was also taken to hand to W. Bro. H. J. Freeman an illuminated and. framed address of similar purport congratulating him upon tho attainment of tho twenty-fifth anniversary of his connection with the Lodge. Tho proceedings were marked with special heartiness.
