A Timaru Press Association telegram states that the South Canterbury Dairy Company held its annual meeting on Saturday. The report and balance-sheet reflected the dry season, 6,800,0001bs: of milk having been received, or 2,000,0001b5. less than tho year before, which was also dry. With provision for bad. debts and depreciations, the year's work showed a loss of £797. During tho year 3000 preferonco shares were crcatcd to raise moro capital; 2000 were underwritten by one shareholder, and less than 100 sold. The retiring directors spoko, hopefully of tho future. Tho number, of directors was reduced from 9 to 5.
