New York, August 20. The Cufiarder" Lusitania, going, to Now York, steamed 650 nautical miles in twentyfour hours.
Tho Lusitania's passage occupied 96 hours 18 minutes, establishing a record:
The Lusitania, the first launched of the two Cunarders, has been steadily improving her performances. On July 1 she left Liverpool with four-bladed propellers for the first time, and between noon on July 5 and noon on July 6 she covered 643' knots at an average porhour of 25.43. At thatjime the Mauretania's longest run for a. day was 635 knots. In putting another seven knots on to her previous best, and at'the same time making a record for the voyage, the Lusitania is setting a task for her clipper sister,.' *
