MR. LLOYD-GEORGE.
— — IN : BERLIN ON PENSIONS ' BUSINESS, (BST TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYUIGHT.) (Rec. August 23, 4.15 p.m.) ; London, August 22. The German authorities will furnish Mr. Lloyd-George (Chancellor of the Exchequer) with much information relating to the German system .of old ago pensions and labour legislation generally. Mr. LlOyd-Georgo has informed the ''Daily Mail" that he is in Berlin exclusively on old age, pension business. Various rumours have been- published concerning the Chancellor's business in Ge'rmaiiv. It has been inferred that he has a limitation of armaments mission, and that he will interiew Admiral Tirpitz, Minister for the Navy. The statement that Mr. Lloyd-Georgo is in Berlin on old iige pensions business tends to confirm the idea that the new British Old Age Pensions Act, which, gives a pension or partial pension to about 572,000 people, is only an instalment.- Pensions in Germany are on a compulsory contributory basis, omployer and employee and the State contributing.
