Messrs. D. Goldie, C. Rhodes, Matthew Clark, and Joseph Miller have been elected the Auckland members of the executive of the New Zealand Employers' Federation. I Mr. T. Shailer Weston, a member of the local committee of the Talisman Consolidated Goldmining Company; leaves Wellington this morning for the purpose of visiting the mine.

The Hon. Mr. Sinclair, of Dunedin, , met with an accident while stepping off a tram car last evening. He fell and cut his head slightly. On returning to his lodgings, medical advice was obtained, aud it was found that he had, luckily, escaped serious jujury.

Tho Hon. James Carroll, Native Ministor, was tho recipient of a presentation on Thursday evening from his Parliamentary friends who desired to show esteem for uieir colleague on the occasion of his fifty-first birthday. In replying 'to the kindly words used in making tho presentation, . Mr. Carroll stated that ho was in good health and had no intention of retiring from Parliament at present. ■
