A SUGGESTION TO THE GOVERN- . MENT. (BY TELEGRAPH— rRESS ASSOCIATION.) . ~ ■ Auckland, August 20. J- 110 Auckland branch of the Amalgamated Society of Carpenters and Joiners has adopted the following resolution:—"That in view of the largo amount of work contemplated by the Government, including the completion of unfinished buildings, and the erection of now ones oil tile Main lrunk railway, as shown by the report of the Chief Engineer, the Society strongly urges tho Government to take immediate steps to push oil with this and other works for the purposo of relieving,tho prevailing lack of employment for carponters and joiners throughout tho Dominion."
