Owing, to tho flooded stato of the Sulphur Stream; near Ohakune, tho coaches woro unable to'convey passengers between Makatote and Ohakune ; this' morning. Tho Public Works: Department, therefore ran tho trains right through, when the following ono hundred and thirty persons had tho honour of being tho first ordinary passengers to travel between Makatote and Ohakune:—

Nearly ! all theso had purchased coach tickets at Bs. each., and fearing no refund would bo given, many sold their tickets to one astute person for five shillings. At Ohakune tho eight shillings was refunded, and the astute person cleared £4 10s. on his bargaiu. .
