A great step in . the bestowal of the Empire's honours has. just been taken (says the "Stars of Empire"). ."Women aro henceforth to be eligible for Imperial decorations. The statutes of the Imperial Service Order havo been altered to admit female, members of the Civil Service to the Order as Companions on the, same conditions as men. "Women aro also to be eligible throughout the Empire for the Imperial Service" Medal, for meritorious service. The order will ■ only bo bestowed on members who havo a rccord of 25 years' meritorious service—or 16 years in tho case of a Colony or Protectorate recognised as unhealthy. Women.are to wear thp decoration, consisting of a silver badge bearing the words "For Faithful Service" set in a wreath, on the left shoulder, suspended from a ribbon tied in a bow.
