Sir, —A short time ago, at tho tinio of tho ocourrenco of a sovoro hailstorm, people (including ladies) on omorging from tho Opera Hqusoj were assailed witli hard balls of hailstones by a number of "hooligans" asserfiblod in front of tho exit, and tho polico did not intprforo.- A day Or t«'o since, a conp]q of larrikins chaffed an unfortunate milkman, who had for some tinie been suffering from annoyance of that kind, and driven to oxaspcration, ho retaliated with a not pudeserved blow, for which ho was mulcted ill a heavy fine of ten pounds and costs.
