Walter Alistcr Lindsay, stated by the •police to be boatswain on the Union Company steamer Kaituna, appeared on a charge of having attempted to commit a serious offence on a youth. On tho application of Chief Detective M'Grath, accused was remanded until August 17. Mr. Blair for tho defence asked for- bail, which was allowed in tho sum of £60 and one surety of £50.
