THE MAMARI, FROM LONDON. One day ahead of lier time-table date, the Shaw, Saviir and Albion Company's liner arrived in port yesterday morning. .Pratique was granted aud the vessel berthed at the Queen's Wharf. The second officer reports that the Mamari left Plymouth at 4 p.m. on June 27, and fine weather with slight sea was experienced until reaching Santa Cruz on July 2. After.a few hours' stay tho voyage to Capetown was commenced, and moderate weather prevailed till arrival there on July 17. A short stay was made, and_ ■on the run to Hobart strong westerly winds were encountered till nearing tho Tasmanian coast. 1 The Mamari arrived in Hobart on : August 5, and after. discharging 500 tons of cargo, the nest day commenced the final stago of the long voyage. She arrived at 10 a.m. yesterday morning after a fine passage across the Tasman Sea. The average speed maintained throughout was 13 knots; Captain T. Moffatt still retains command o! the Mamari, and has wi,th him the following executive staff, of officers:—Chief, Mr. P. Lambert;. second, Mr. P. Kidman; third, Mr. J. S. Hely; fourth, Mr. H. Hardin (late Clan Line); surgeon. Mr. Leo; chief steward, Mr. F. Rutledgo. Mr. Greenhill is in charge of tho enginerooni department. His assistants are;— Mr. Esplin, second; Mr. Loftus, third; Mr. Grant, fourth; Mr. Day is chief refrigerating engineer. • • ~ ■
There are'over 200 passengers on board tho Mamari'for New Zealand,, only four ,of them being' first-class passengers for Wellington, viz.: Messrs., A. Cook, F. List, J. Anderson, and H. Barlow. In addition to the list already published, the following passengers for Wellington joined the vessel en route J. Napier, Mrs. Napier, Messrs. J. and' G. Nanier. and Stohart (3). The Mamari has 7951 tons of cargo for the Dominion, of which ififlO tons are for Wellington. On completing discharge here she proceeds to Lyttelton.
Last bight the Maheno left the Bluff for : Hobart and Melbourne. The Whangape also left the Bluff for Sydney. The Huddart Parker liner. Ulimaroa arrived at tho Bhiff from Melbourne and Hobart yesterday. The vessel is due here on Friday, and leaves for Sydney direct the same day. At 9 a.in. yesterday the Arahura arrived in Grevmouth from Wellington, via ports. She is expected to leave ou the return voyage at 7.30 a.m. to-day, and is due here on Wednesday. On Sunday tho Union Company's steamer, Pukaki left Greymouth for' Auckland. The Waipori left Westport the same day for Lyttelton, and tho Kamoha is fixed to got away from Westport for Auckland to-day. Tho Tyser liner Indradovi, which is now in tho south, is expected back in Wellington about the middle of next week for loading purposes. From here sho" proceeds to the East Coast and then to Auckland, sailing from there for London.,
This morning .the..Tasman is !due in from Nelson and' Motueka, and"in' 'the afternoon makes her final trip in, this run. She leaves Nelson for Wanganui 1 th&"w¥ek!, where her new owners, the Northern S.S. Co., will take delivery. ,
