In some instances in the case of tie cuttings tho slips havo 'commenced for a chain or more back from tho banks. Gangs of mon are now: engaged in tunnelling underneath some of tho damaged embankments to carry drainago channels • through, but it will be some considerable time before the Wolisford section enn bo opened for traffic
