A DARING ROBBERY.

. (ill TELEGRAPH.—Sr.ECIAX CORRESPONDENT.) Auckland, July 30. It would seem that thore is at present a gang of expert thieves in Auckland. A peculiarly daring robbery took'place last Monday at Mount Eden, the thief entering a residence in broad daylight between the hours of 10.30 a.m. and 3.30 p.m. Ho ran considerable risk of being interrupted in his search' for valuables, as the lady of tho house was only payinga visit to a friend a few doors away. He secured about £18 worth of jewellery, but very fortunately overlooked £10 in cash, which, strange to say, was in one of the drawers that ho had rifled. The only things left to show that the house had been visited was an open window and an unlocked door.
