Ho approachod-the officer in charge pf tho labour bureau regarding tho others, and was informed that all bona lido unemployed prepared to go to tbo railway works at Broken River would ho taken on. Thp Minister for Railways stated in tho. House of Representatives yesterday that:— " In view of the Government's proposals regarding railway construction,, arrangements have been already inado to givo .employment to. a large numbor of men on tho various railway works. Several hundred men arp wanted, and provided they register their names at the office of tho Labour Department (if they are not tho overflow of neighbouring colonies) arrangements will bo made to give employment to tbo men referred to by the hbn. member. It ,is tho genoral practice to place tho mpn on work nearest their homes when men are required."
