Yesterday afternon the barque Canterbury completed loading her timber cargo for Sydney, and is expected to get away for Hokianga to-day. THE WONGA FELL, FOR AVELLINGTON. Cabled advice received by the Union Company roports that tho steamer AVonga Fell, 3998 tons, left Newcastle at 7 a.m. on Sunday for AVollington. The vessel is laden with coal, and is cxpectcd to arrive in AVellington. to ; morrow. THE DELPHIC. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company's steamer Delphic, from' Liverpool, via Australia and Auckland, arrived in port yesterday morning. The Vessel,- after discharging tho AVellington portion of her cargo, is to leave for Lyttelton, probably on Friday or Saturday. THE ARAHURA. On Monday night at eight o'clock tho Union Company's steamer Arahura left Greymouth for Westport, whoro sho arrived at 1.30 a.m. yesterday. The Arahura left AVeStport seven hours later for Nelson, from which port sho is fixed to sail at 10 a.m. to-dn,y for Picton. The Arahura is fixed to leave Picton at 5.30 p.m. to-day, and should reach here shortly after 9 p.m. KUAPEHU AND RIMUTAICA. As reported, yesterday, tho New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Rimutaka is expected to arrivo from London, via Capetown and Hobart, on Thursday. As there are a number of passengers arriving by the vessel, who wish to tranship to the Ruapehu, which leaven for London to-morrow, the departure of tho latter vessel is postponed till the arrival of the "Rimutaka. , THE TASMAN. Yesterday morning the. : Anchor. .Line . twinscrew steamer Tasman arrived from Nelson and ,Motueka.. She sailed on tho return journey last night, and is expected back on Thursday. It is reported that tho Tasman has been sold to the Northern Steamship Company, of Auckland. The Tasman was built in Auckland four or five years ago at the yards of R. Logan, senior. She w : as engined by Eraser and' Sons, of the Thames. THE' MAKURA. ;V • Last week a cable was-received stating that the Union new steamer Makiira'' had ,been launched on the Clyde. ' The Makura, which was built by Messrs. Alec. Stephen and Sons, of Linthouso, is intended-for the Cana-dian-Australian mail; service. The tonnage of the ' new vessel is approximately l 7500 gross, and her dimensions 'arelength, 450 ft;,breadth, 57ft. 6in.; and depth,'34ft. Sin. Luxurious'accommodation will be provided for 250 first-class, 160 second-class, and- 100 third-class passengers. .The-Makiira is'a twin-screw steaincr. While at Port Chalmers the New Zealand Shipping Company's steamor Whakatano loaded the following oxports:—s73 bales..wool, 40 do sheepskins; 3 do rabbitskins, 103 do'flax, 102, 'casks tallow, 25 do ; .pelts, 30 do-casings,' 24 •logs Now Zealand timber, 16,510 carcasses lamb, 5204 cases rabbits, 279 packages frozen sundries. Tile long passage of the Oreti from Greywas due -to that vessel meeting the' Putiki (en route from Wangariui'to Wostport) in a temporarily disabled condition. The Oreti rendered assistance, ■ and tho' vessels resumed their voyages.' The Putiki had damaged her propollor, and was all' right' when the Oreti left her. LAn oxchahge . reports that on her voyago from New .York to Melbourne the well-known trader _ Indradcvi, ivhich is duo at Wellington early in August, gave proof of her steaming capabilities. She accomplished the trip (12,800 miles) in' 51 "days' actual steaming time—an excellent performance. Only one stoppage was madfi en routo, namely,- at St. Vincent, whero the vessol remained practically a whole day whilst' replenishing her bunkers. The Indradevi,'which is'running under the auspices of the United 'Tyser Line, is . commanded, by Claptain A. E. Hollingsworth, who Was-'freely congratulated upon making such'a good- passage. ' ■ ■ -
