' (DT TELKGnirn.—SrECIiX, ■'correspondent'.) . i 'i' Marten, July 28. The Marten, Poultry Society,_has.every, reason to feel , proud oh tboir third anual show which opened to-day. 'Satisfactory, entries' have come forward, and the'show promises to bo a financial success. Tho judges are of opinion' that th 6 birds aro : really a lino lot, and the pigeonsection is worthy -of special mention. Mr. T. Uoig,'of Brooklyn, Wellington) judged the poultry, and Mr. A. 11. Martin, of Marton, late of Hawera, the ducks, pigeons, and cage-birds. Miss M'Donald acted as 'judge of the children's sowing Classes, and Mr. Marcbant judged the school work,- drawing and writing. •' . . - , - I Tho North Island Championship for a White-Wyandotte cock' went.to H..Roy Burrett, a lad from Wangamii, who exhibited a splendid bird, and E. Batcman's entry was second to the champion; The North, Island chartipionship for fantail pigeon was awarded ;to Clias. Canton's (Carterton). This entry was a beautiful bird. ' \ .' Points priae-winners wci'6 as. followOrpingtons,,Soler Bros., Waiiganui; wyandottes, H. E. Rawsoiv Martoin'; leghorns, -J. J. Thomasen, Ekotahuna; Indian runner ducks, Cooper and Willis, Waiiganui; ducks,' othor than runners, J. J. Thomasen and J. Green divided with ten points each.
