Thero was a-disappointing muster of tho ■Wellington Harriers at the Thorndon Baths on-Saturday-considering ,the fine weather which prevailed,' only twenty-three• members putting l iti an appearance. - . The-selection ! of, a' course :was left in the hands' , of J! R;;o'Flaherty. and J..F. Wilson, "and-they, succeeded in .their effort to cover a ;more than usually' varied trail. A dis- '?£ miles in all was covered, course being' to Kharidallah and back.' .Going_up to.Crofton, by. way of tho Kaiwarra ; Gorge- the; pack ' were, stormed with' balls from the hail stones which were lying inches - deep •in the shaded places, but thev "wore quick to retaliate,i,and a battle royal was .fought, lasting till .the hill top was reached. From horq a steady paco was maintaindd until the -Hutt Road was ■' again Reached, where tlie pace f 'slackened for a spaco before the fast rim in: was hold. This was held over-the last'four hundred yards, and was won.:by H. J. Pollock, with C. L, TumbuU second, , and W. Press ; third.
