NEARLY SUFFOCATED IN A STRONG ROOM. (by TELEGRAPH—press association—coftright.) Perth, July 27. Aii attempt to rob tho strongroom at Drew, Robinson and Company's premises, Albany, was discovered in a peculiar manner. Tho firm's branch' at Wagin, 140 miles from Albany, was destroyed by fire,' and a partner in the firm went to tho Albany office to find out particulars of the insurances. On opening the door of the strongroom a man foil into his arms,' in an unconscious condition. The man proved to bo one of tho employees. He had succeeded in removing the firo-proof lining of tho door, but tho strong outside dobr still barred his way to freedom. ■ On recovering, with the aid of restoratives, he stated that ho had bought a screw wrench tho night before, and was placing it in the strongroom when ho was looked in. The man was arrested. But for tho timely arrival of his rescuer he would havo died of suffocation.
