• DUE'S SENTENCE. STRIKES AND RIOTS IN BOMBAY. ONE MAN KILLED. (BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGIIT.) Caloutta, July 24.. In connection. with tho sentence passed upon U. G. Tilak, Extremist leader, for publishing seditious articles in a nowspaper, a serious state of alfairs exists in ilombay. Tho cloth and copper bazaars, other market places, and the majority-of Hindoo shops aro closed out of sympathy with Tilak. Twenty thousand mill hands have struck. Further riots have occurred, and the military were called out. The troops wore successful in suppressing the disturbance, during which tlioy killed one person and wounded several. MORE BLOODSHED ; FIVE KILLED AND FIFTY-THREE WOUNDED. (Rec. July 26, 4.30 p.m.) Calcutta, July 25. A mob at Bombay attempted to wreck the Curry Road railway station. They hold up a train and stoned a magistrate and tho police. Thereupon a company of Volunteers fired a volley, killing five of the mob and wounding fifty-three.
