H.M.S. ENCOUNTER v. POST AND TELEGRAPH RIFLES. On Saturday afternoon, at Polhill Gully, teams' from the H.AI.S. Encounter and the Post and Telegraph Rides met in a return match, which resulted in a win lor tho Wellington men by the narrow margin of. eight points. The members of the Pongaroa Kille Club met on AVednesday,'July 22 to continue the competition for Tucker's (Wellington) trophy, firing seven 'rounds each at 200, 500, and GOO yards, with an optional sighter. Thcro was only, a fair attendance, and- the, weather was far from favourable, as tho scores (especially at 003 yards) indicate. F. Brenton was tho only one able to copo with the conditions, right through. " - . , This competition* has'become very interest-, in", as three members are well ahead of tho remainder—F. Brenton and J.
