The old argument that;the "home is the proper sphere for women" will scarcely bo listened to at present, says air English wi'itcr referring to. the circular issued by the, Women's Anti-Suffrage Association. There,are, ' hundreds of fairly educated, yet practically homeless women. jTho'y liavo a bed to sleep upon, a roof to cover them,'and a table at , wnich to eat,their meals, but; for-,the most ■ part their food is taken in a. cheap restaurant or teashop, for home, in the proper sense of the word, they have none. 1 wish that it were possible to . ascertain tho views of the 'majority of theso 'women upon tho - subject of this new move. If; "The National 'Women's Anti-Suffrage Association'' is: to succeed, it must not wholly depend for-'sup-' port upon the efforts'of members of the '.so--cial standing of thosewho signed the circular - letter. ••• The association must bring into its ranks real working women; women who-have had some experience of the seamy 'side of life; women who make ho noise in the world, i,'-but bravely do theiivduty. ijn which circum- '• stances have placed tli'em.; Women such as these "could tell jis wljat effect-, for good or evil,the-" vote " might have upon their lives, ; and more especially .jvhether, they have reason to think that theijlack added to their trials. ,
