THE RUMOURED COAL STRIKE.

Ill' connection with the rumour of a threat, ened coal strike in August, the manager of tlio Napier Gas Company informed a reporter that a fooling of unrest had been recognised by the company for some time, and in consoquehco large stocks had bcon laid in. • It is understood from a reliable source that the strike, should it occnr, will b« confined to the Green Islands mines (new Piuictlin). The West Coast and Kiitangata miners disapprove of a general strike. Tht date of the strike, if no agreement is oom> to, will be next Monday or Tuesday.
