AUSTRALIAN AND BRITISH SUPPLIES. Wliile butter i nSydney is quoted at 138s. per cwt. wholesale, and in New Zealand at 1445., tho London market, which chiefly concerns Now Zealand producers, is firm at only about 116s'. to _118s. Largo supplies aro arriving in Britain. The figures of tho imports during July will show tho abundance that prevails:— British Imports of Butter. InWeek 1907. 1008. crease, ended. cwt. cwt. cwt. SOUTH WAI3ARAPA STOCK. There is a, general scarcity of food in tho South Wairarapa (writes our correspondent); and in many iastances dairy cattle and sheep aro being fed artificially. In some parts of the district, the stock are in rath or poor condition, and tho owners expect additional mortality to result from that • cause, when tho lambing and calving begin. There aro other farmers, however, who view the future' with the greatest confidence, and consider that, with the mild season experienced, it is hardly possible that there will bo any great loss of stock.
