FIRST STAGE OF THE KING'S PRIZED (dt telegbaph—pbess association—copyeight.) (Rec. July 24, 9 a.m.) London, July 23. Lieutenant Hattersley, of New South Wales, mado a scoro of 97 in the first stage of tho King's Prize. Sergt.-Major Tootel, of tho Australian Engineers, made 96, and qualified to shoot in the second stags. The King's Prize last year resulted First stage (seven shots at 200, 500, and GOO yards), Captain A. S. Bates, Ist London V.R.C., 103— bronze medal; ■ second' stago (20 shots at 600 yards), Private E. Buckley, 4th V.B. Manchester Regiment, 199—silver medal; third stage (ten shots at 800, 900; and 1000 yards), Lieut. W. C. Addison, Australia, 318—gold medal and ; Privato T. P. Hope, Ist London V.R;C., 318—N.R.A. badge and ,£GO; Armourer-Sergt. A. Lawrence (G.M.), Ist Dumbarton Y.R.C., 31G—N.R.A. badge and .£'lo.
