The "Kosmos " liner Anubis, with 77 passengers and crew, is ashore on San Miguel, an island off tho coast of ■ California. The steamer is pounding herself to pieces in a' heavy sea. Ono boat, with survivors, has reached Point Concepcion, on the Californian coast. ' ' The "Kosmos" liner Anubis is owned by the "Butsche DampfschifFahrts Gesllsehaft" (which has a fleet of thirty-six steamers, ranging from 1900 to 1175 tons), and is registered at Hamburg. The Anubis is a steel screw steamer of 4763 tons, built at Sunderland in 1898; length3B2.oft., beam 18.2 ft., depth 26.2 ft.
