The recent fall of snow is likely to bo more serious than was ,at first anticipated. In tho Mackenzie country, runbolders are. employing men at great to save as -many sheep as possible, but it is' stated, that where hundreds wcro lost after tho great snowstorm, somo few years back, tho loss this time will run into thousands. , Dunedin, July 20. Tho railway lino between Oturchua and ltanfurly is, still impassable, owing to frozen snow. It is impossiblo to plough after 3 p.m., owing to tho frost. Very little progress lias been -made, though two ploughs are at work. Th'o District Engineer is still unablo to return to Dimed'u.
