As a' result of tho labours of a fen- tennis enthusiasts in tho Government Buildings, an annual tournament is being inaugurated, and to-morrow (Arbor Day) the first Civil Service tennis championship meeting will tako placo on: tho Brougham Hill Club's courts. There are two events down for decision (a) championship singles, 12.'gamos up; (b) handicap singles, 60 points. Good entries Have ,been received, representing practically ovory partof tlio service.- The following aro tho' handicaps declared by Mr. G. N. Goldio, handicuppor, with tho drawings:— Championship.—Lewis v. Hawkins, Redward v. Fleming,--Lsum v. Anderson, J. H. Clark v. AVatkins, Jones v. Climie, P. Clarke v. O'Lcary, Herd y. Cockayne, Hunter v. Pratt. Handicap.—Jones (17) v. Hawkins (scr.), Herd (18) v. Hunter (owes 2), AVatkina (7) v. P. Clarke (24), Redward (3) v. Cockayne (24), Esam (38) v. Climie (12), Sampson (20) v: Lewis (13), Fleming (14) v. Anderson (10), J. IT. Clark (36)O'Lcary (15). ' Play is timed to commenco at 0 o'clock sliarp.'
