HOW CHICAGO DEALS WITH ITS-MILK SUPPLY.
The Chicago ißoard of Health has issued the .following regulation.:—" ■ • ; _ ; "Therbvwill be publicly displayed : in the outor' office of the .Laboratory the record of overy milkman selling milk in Chicago'. This record will show the name and address or overy milkman, tho size .of his business, the' sanitary condition of, his premise's,. and the number of below grade 'samples'or other violations of the,.ordinances that .have ;been reported against' him. These records'will be kept up-'to date and open to. the'public at all. times, so that anyone can' ascertain the standing of;any : milkman, in the : city, both as. .regards the .purity, of the milk' he' servos and the cleanliness of his premises." A further regulation .requires each milkman to furnish on the : first and fifteenth' days'of every" morith.a written report stating whether any contagious exists :oh' .his premises. ■ .If-.the',report does-not _i arrive,/,that is? taken i'as.Evidence: of contagious disease, and the .milkman', is .immediat6ly* forbidden /to ■ sell' milk.; pending'. investigation.
