: —: — Considerable interest was - taken- at the meetingi.of' the .Britannia Lodge on Monday evening, in : 'the report of •a- Committee set up to consider proposals for the disposal of the Lodge surplus of £3959. • The report was ultimately'adopted, with" one' or two slight amendments, and provides for'the amount of £1675 being appropriated for the reduction of members' contributions. Tho Provincial Grandmaster (Bro. J. O'Sullivan), assisted by; tho ■Provincial Corresponding Secretary (Bro. Kershaw), installed.tbo new officers as-fol-low:—Noble Grand, Bro. Osborne; ViceGrand, Bro. Anderson; Elective,. Secretary, Bro. Loon'er; Grandmaster, Bro. A. Leedeii. They were also accorded Lodgo honours, to which -they suitably replied. The retiring Grandmaster (Bro. White) was proposed for the purple degree, and his namo ordered.to bo. placed on tho Merit Board. One candidate by initiation, and 0110 by clearance, were received, also six. proposals for membership. Visiting brethren were received with Lodgo honours,.to-which they suitably replied.. Tho prcs'enco' of two veteran Oddfellows, P.P.. Grandmasters Bros. Robin aiid Leslie, of the Otago district, was-noted with approval.. They . havo: c<jmc to Wellington in order to koep a 'strict o.vo on each clause of the Friendly Societies Bill. •'
