Replying to tho toast of his health, Stalf-Sergt.-ilajor Colclough said that ho regretted exceedingly his. departure from Wellington; it was tho first duty of aholdier, however, to oboy orders. Ho asked those present to extend to his successor, Staff-Sergt.-Major Rose,'that hearty support whicli, ill the past, they had given to him. : : •. .' ■ ■ Responding to the toast of his health, proposed by Col.-Sergt. Bould, Sergt.-Maior Rose said that ho • highly appreciated- tho manner in which-ho had'been received on taking up his duties. in succession to tho guest of tho evening. , Other toasts 'were "The Ordnanco" (proposed by Col.-Sergt. Evatt),' and "The Battalion (proposed by C.P.O. Martin). Song 3 were ' given by " members .of tho company, Bandmaster Dean (Battalion' Band) presiding at tho piano.
