' ... 4G Mr. Bryan's nomination was then mado unanimous. (Rec. July 12, 4.30 p.m.) New York, July 11. Whon the nominator described Mr. Bryan as tho choice of tho militant democracy the Convention cheered with the wildest enthusiasm. Innumerable flags waved, and a white dovo was released above tho platform. A great portrait of Mr. Bryan was lowered from' the roof amid fresh cheering, and banners were grouped round Mr. Bryan. The party platform was unanimously adopted. It includes a tariff pla'nk demanding immediate revision, ■ a reduction of import duties,'and the gradual restoration of the tariff on a revenue basis. Tho platform declares that tho articles competing with Trust controlled products should forthwith bo placed on' tho free list; that' tho'duties-on the necessities of life should be materially reduced, especially ar-' tides competingjwith American manufactures which ; aTe sold cheaper abroad than at home. Mr. Kern, an Indianapolis lawyer, was nominated by acclamation for the VicePresidohcy.
