THE BAKERS' STRIKE.
CONFERENCE IMPRACTICABLE. There were no fresh developments yesterday ill connection with the bakers' strike. Speaking to ;-a reporter, Mr.. Andrew Collins, secretary of tho Bakers' Operatives' TJnioii, said. that the position. romained tho same. The co-operative hakery in' "Webb Street would start operations about Thursday. Tho men were quite willing that a conference should be held, but they had not been approached. . A short meeting of tho Mastor Bakers' Union was held last night. Mr. Kellow, tho president,' reported regarding tho informal conference that had taken place, but the meeting unanimously decided that they would adhero to the award for the full term.
Mr. Allen told a reporter that three more second hands wore engaged yesterday.
