THE WELLINGTON TRAMWAYS. A rumour, regarding a possible strike of the Wellington City Corporation tramway employees was mentioned to a Dominion reporter yesterday. . It was to ,the effect that a meeting, of the Union was held on Monday night, when it was decided that unless the demands, of the TJnion regarding wages wero agreed to in full by _ the City Council the men would go on strike on Thursday week, July 16. ; Mr. Stuart Richardson, City Electrical Engineer and Tramways Manager, was telephoned to by a reporter, and he Baid, "I don't know-anything about it, but I would not worry about it if I were you.'? . A tramway officer was approached on the subject, and he admitted that the. matter had been discussed,' but he was not of opinion thiit a strike would take place. Some of them, he said, were talking wildly..' A further. mcoting, he added, would bo held before July"l 6 to decide the matter.
