Tho conduct of tho British soldier has improved remarkably during the last 'five years, according'to the Report on Military Prisons and Detention'. Barracks for 1907, issued recently. Tho report adds that' tho . new system of "detention" instead of "prisoii" for purely military offences is much appreciated by soldiers ana works' well. '
