THE TOMOANA. - To-day the Tyser Line steamer Tomoana, from London, via Australia, ..Auckland, 'and Napier, is oxuccted to roach Wellington.' She is expected 'to leave on Tuesday for .the Bluff to complete discharge. Tho Tompann has been fixed to go oil the loading berth iu New Zealand for Loudon. THE INVEETAY. . Xt is reported by tho Vacuum Oil Company, that the steamer Invortay, which left New York last Friday, for Australian and New Zealand ports, has a. quantity of about 150,000 cases of oil for tho Dominion. Of. this amount 37,000 cases of Verpsene and prtrolcum spirits are for Wellington. • THE CEVIC FOR NEW ZEALAND. It is reported that the Covic, which loaded at Glasgow and Liverpool on account of the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company, was, according to' mail advices, to leavo tho latter port on June 20, for: New Zealand ports, via Melbourne and Sydney. On discharge of her, inward cargo she will return, to Australia for Homoward loading. Tho Covic is a twinscrew steamer of S3Ol tons. register, and r up to recently was engaged in the New YorkLiverpool cargo service. Captain Aldwell assumed command of the Rotoiti yosterday, vice Captain Hutchings. It is expected that the Shaw, Savill liner Corinthic will leave Lyttelton to-day for'Gigborne for Homeward loading purposes. At midnight last'night tho Union Company's steamer Kamona was expected to leavo Westport for Wellington. Tho Kittawa leaves Greymouth at midnight to-day for Wellington. To-morrow tho Union Company's steamer Whangape is expected to reach Wellington from Newcastle. The vessel has on board a part cargo for Napier, whence she proceeds on completing discharge at Wellington. At i o'clock yesterday, morning the Union Company's steamer ■ Mapourika arrived in Wesfport from Greymouth, and seven hours later resumed tho voyage to Wellington, via Nelson. She is .due, here to-day. . The Marine Department has tho papers concerning the scow. Whangaroa inquiry under consideration, and up to lato yesterday afternoon had not decided whether a marine inquiry would be i held.
Mr. W. J. King, chief officer of tho Warrimoo, had to go ashore at Dunedin on sick leave this trip, and the vacancy thus caused was filled by promoting the other officers a step.
The Norddeutschor-Lloyd has eild three" of its old steamers to the firm of Neugebauer and Co., Hamburg, for breaking-up purposes. They are tho Trave, built in 1886, and tho Stuttgart aud Karlsruhe, built in 1889 by tho Fairfield Shipbuilding and Engineering Company.
Tho Matatua sails from Port Chalmers on the 9th of this month, after loading frozen meat and rabbits there. She ivill continue her Homeward loading at northern ports, aud is expected to sail finally from Auckland about July: 25 for London.
This afternoon tho Government steamer Hinemoa is expected to arrive back in Wellington, having;-completed her tour of the lighthouses, etc., ; in Cook Strait. Sho visits Kapiti Islaud this morning for the purposo of landing Mr. Henry, who was recently appointed caretaker there.
Yesterday' morning the Huddart Parker Company's steamer Wimmera arrived from Sydney, via East Coast ports. Sho left for Lyttelton and Duncdin last night, and passes through Wellington next Thursday on tho return trip to Sydney, via ports.
' It is reported that Captain Macfarlano has sucoeeded Captain Campbell as master of tho barque Marjorie Craig. Captain Mncftirlano was for' a '.considerable time in tho servico of the Melbourno Steam Ship Company, and' was recently chief officer of the Lytteltonowned barque Bankfielda,
