Frank Lind is to ride Lull in his Trentham and Kiccarton engagements. The Handsomo Jack gelding is doing very well in his schooling offorts over the big country at Wanganui. The Auckland jumper Omati has _ gone wrong, and it is improbable that he will fulfil his engagements at; the Trentham meeting. Omati shaped very well on the threo days of tho Auckland winter meeting, but failed to win a race. Tho sou of .Leolantis was nicely handicapped at Trentham, and it is rather unfortunate for his owner that he should go wrong at such a stage. ;
The Birkenhead gelding Ajasj wliich' will probably represent the Karamu stable m the Hunters' Steeplechases at Riccarton next month, is said to be a splendid juniper.
The Foilding horseman, W. Young, will again pilot Shrapnel in the Grand National Hurdle's. .

Although- Waipu kn'd : Paraloch' aro likely to start favourites for the Victoria Grand National Hurdles to-day, a cablegram from Melbourne last night stated that Philip Worth had figured prominently in the betting yesterday. Philip Worth is a six-year-old chestnut gelding by Philip-from'fashion, and is ' owned' by Mr., E . A'Connolly.' 'Some of his recent performances read exceptionally well. At AViiliamstowUj on' May 8> lie won the Jumpers' Flat, one mile and three furlongs, beating,- among othors, tho Grand National candidate Bribery, to-i whom he was conceding weight. ' The distance was covored in 2min. 29sec. On May 23- he ran second in the Jumpers' Flat at Epsom; beating several Grand National candidates. At Flemington, on. Juno 8, be won the York Hurdles, two miles, and again, there were several National candidates' . among tie /beaten division. Tho " Referee,in describing the result,-says: "Won easily by-four ilongths." .Evidently Philip Worth is :auseful sort .of hurdler. , ■
