In the Divorce Court this morning, Mr, Justice Edwards granted a decroo nisi in the caso-of Margaret Trask v. Elijah Trask; also in tho case Hugh Eraser- M'DonaW v. A. M. M'Donald and C. Christie (co-respon-dent), and in the' action Charles Newman Smith v. Lydia Smith and James Franks (corespondent). '

In the Divorce Court to-day' a case presenting unusual. features was heard, when ■ Margaret Trask, of Victoria, petitioned for divorce from Elijah Trask on the grounds that in November, 1906, ho went through a form of marriage with a young woman.named. Catherine Kincaid, of Now Plymouth. It was alloged that Trask, who was for sonio time local representative of Roberts and Stokes, of. Auckland, married his wife at Birregurra, in the backwoods of Victoria. v In 1905 his wife alleged cruelty, and left him, but became reconciled. Ho came to "Now Zealand and expressed his intention of sending for his wife when lie had made a homo here. He, however, eventually married a girl who is well known and respected. : Evi-. denco was given by the petitioner and his supposed second wife, who was joined as corespondent. During tho hearing of- the case his Honour brought, the facts under notice of. tho"police. He .stated that ho considered it tlio duty of tho Stato to reimburse tho expenses of Mrs. Trask, who would bo an essential witness in further - proceedings.
