Tho members' of the intermediate section of tho boys' department of the Y.3LC.A. 'met at tho rooms last evening, when thero wore' 70 present: ' Mr. J. SliaW, Convener of tho Membership Committee, presided and Mr. R. Purton was at.tli© piano. Tho subject for tho evening was a character study of St. Paul. Four papers touching on tho various incidents of St. Paul's lifo were road by Messrs. T. Wilson, AV. Urquhart, C. Parker, and A. Ross. Mr. H. N. Holmes, general secretary, also spoke, briefly on tho subject. The American game of basket ball has aoliiovcd a great voguo at tho Y.M.C.A. A series of Saturday night, tournaments has boon 'started. Last Saturday over 80 men and boys took part, and it is expected that tho number will bo still larger this week.
