Greto Brier, a-beautiful girl, aged twentytwo, daugliter of a former burgomaster of Brand, Saxony, was sentenced to death for killing Pressler, her \ fiance, at Chemnitz. She also forged his w-ill in her favour, and other documents suggesting that he.had committed suicide. • ' ' THE DEATH OF.CONSTABLE RINC. COLEMAN'S SYMPATHISERS. ' Adelaide, July 2, There is a great agitation to securo the reprieve of. Coleman, who is to be hanged to-day. SENTENCE CARRIED OUT. / (Rec. July 2, 9.30 p.m.) . Adelaide, July 2. Coleman was executed. Death was instan. taneous. • Constable Ring, aged 38 years, had arrested Coloman, a fisherman, for drunkenness. After his release Coleman is", said to have imbibed moro liquor, and subsequently shot Ring dead in the street, presumably in revenge for his arrest.
