At the banquet to Earl Dudley, GovernorGoneralof tho Commonwealth, Lord Curzon, in proposing the toast "Our Oversea Dominions," emphasised mutual dependence and the Motherland's indebtedness to tho colonies. . . Lord Dudley expressed a. hopo that British naval supremacy must ever'be regarded as the keystone of tho Empire's policy and osistenco.. ~..'' Mr. Kidston, (Premier of Queensland), in proposing "The Chairman," said he believed the dominions, would find in Earl Crewe a sympathetic, able, and efficient administrator. Referring to tho cost of'tho Empire's burden, ho said a better sentiment and recognition of their position woro dawning upoii Australia, as also upon the other dominions. Tho guests included the Hon. W. P. Reeves (New Zealand 'High Commissioner), and Canon Williams. One thousand two hundred persons attended a reception aftor the banquet. .
