PETONE NEWS.

The.body of Mrs. Mary: Roper,' of .Petone, was found by two boys yesterday ■ morning in tho Hutt River near the pipe bridge. Deceased attempted her life with-- a razor at Petoiio about twelve weeks ago,''but was found by her husband and - taken' to tho Hospital, whero she recovered, and on being discharged was committed to tho Porirua Mental Hospital, remaining there for some eight weeks. Her husband visited her on Saturday last, and as sho appeared much better ho was allowed to take her homo to his brothor's residcnco in Cuba Street, Petone. Sho left tho house; at 5.30 o'clock on Monday evening, and did not again return. Tho body was taken by the police to the Empire Hotel, where an inquest was hold last evening.
