WELLINGTON HOSPITAL TRUSTEES.

At a meeting of the Welliugton Hospital Trustees, 'held' yesterday morning,- the' stateinent of' receipts : and ospeuditure showed that at tho" beginning f of'Juno thcro was a credit balance , of £2670'145. Bd., but since this, receipts, brought it'up to £2865 14s. 4d. After paying•, accounts, tho balance%as. reduced to £992"95; 3d: ' .■• ' ' : ' The return of - patients in tho hospital showed tho number':to be .283,: or 14. less than tho number in the. institution during tho fortnight of -1907. Tho tender of Mr... Dawsoiij at- £26, was accepted for the installation s of 'fird blarins in tho hospital. ■ .1'- ' j•' In answer to the' Trustees! olfe'r of two cash prizes for designs to ■ be' used for the oxtension of the hospital, eloven were received. August-20? wjs fixed as tho closing date for recoiving the'designs. A discussion took place regarding a poor Wairarapa patient ,who was treated at tho Wellington Hospital, and for whom tho Wairarapa authority was disinclined to' pay. This indisposition' to meet such expenses, on tho part of local bodies was regretted, and legal remedies were mentioned.-'■. Tho collcction of ovorduo accounts came before tho meeting, and it was slated that some of tho debtors'had left long .ago, and tho accounts' should be followed ; up with' greater promptitude and persistency. It was decided to'hold a special meeting to go through the lists and tako what-action was deemed necessary. .
